Are you moving into a new home soon; thinking about selling your home and moving onto new?
There are some things to think about when you are moving in somewhere new, let’s talk about it!
Updating your personal information and transferring bills and accounts -Before moving into a new home, you are obligated to change your home address on all of your pieces of identification, all of the businesses you hold accounts in, and anybody that has your home address. Even think about forwarding your mail to your new home until you move in.
Change all locks on new home, and all codes for garage and alarms Test all alarms in house, like smoke detectors and carbon monoxide (recommended every 6 months) Clean the house from top to bottom; you won’t want to bring your belongings into a filthy home and you never know what was spilt or dirtied before you moved in. This is also a great time to get any painting done that needs to be done, in the new home Get familiar with the systems that run the home (HVAC, circuit-breaker, water shut-off, ETC) so when there is an issue, you have an idea of what to do.
